  • Lombok/Majellapark are sub-neighbourhoods of the neighbourhood Utrecht-West.
  • Lombok was built between 1886 and 1920 as a typical working-class neighbourhood.
  • Kanaalstraat runs centrally through the neighbourhood. The street names have a theme that suits the neighbourhood: many streets are named after Indonesian islands and areas.

The demografic composition of the neighbourhood has changed significantly the past decade and attractive to young urbanites because of the characteristic streets, various restaurants and strategic location near the city centre. This is where the new Ulu mosque was built and along Westpleinzijde and Kanonstraat, apartments were realised which were designed by Marlies Rohmer.
  • The Majellapark is a public park in West. It is also the name of a small neighbourhood which is part of the bigger neighbourhood West. Along several sides of the park is a street with the same name, on the southside is the Vleutsenseweg.
  • One of the most famous Dutch people coming from Lombok is entertainer Wim Sonneveld (1917-1974). His father had a grocery store at 84 J.P. Coenstraat.
